Kogenate (antihemophilic factor). Kogenate is a recombinant factor VIII, a genetically engineered version of the protein found in human blood plasma that is essential for the process of blood clotting (coagulation). Kogenate is used for the treatment of people with hemophilia A, who are deficient in factor VIII from birth. This deficiency causes their blood to clot very slowly and can result in prolonged bleeding following any injury or wound.
